"Tonight another thousand-fold golden dog appeared," "I missed a hundred-fold while taking a nap." Have you ever had such experiences? The golden dog always strikes when you're not around, and by the time you react, its market value has already exceeded eight digits. So, when do golden dogs appear most frequently? Is it necessary to be online during this period to have a chance? Odaily will review this in this article.
When do golden dogs appear?
We first take the top one thousand tokens by market capitalization from Pump.fun as our research subjects, obtaining the following creation time points for the tokens. Here, a creation time point of 0 means the token was created between 0:00-1:00 Beijing time, and so on. From this chart, it is clear that after 21:00, the frequency of golden dogs jumps from 2% to 4% and continues to rise, peaking between 3:00-6:00 AM, then falling back to 2%-3% in the morning.
To verify whether this pattern is correct, we expanded our research subjects to include tokens ranked in the top 200 and top 2000 by market capitalization. To illustrate more intuitively, we added a bar chart as shown below. It can be seen that for the top 2000 tokens, the frequency of golden dogs also starts to rise significantly after 21:00, with a notable advantage during the 3:00-6:00 AM period.
Is there still a chance if you miss the night?
For most users, it is difficult to catch golden dogs in the early morning. So, if you miss the first wave in the early morning, is there no chance left? The author has compiled the time intervals from the creation of the top 20 tokens to their first peak, as shown in the following chart. On average, it takes 52.7 hours to ferment to the first peak, while it takes an average of 58.7 days to reach the current top 20 status, indicating that even if you miss the opening, there is still ample time to get in.

The pump market capitalization rankings can be obtained through the pump front-end API, which includes over ten pieces of information such as token address, symbol, creation and end times, etc. For top tokens, this API can be used to retrieve data. The author has tested and can access tokens ranked in the top 2050 by market capitalization.
For tokens not in the ranking, the creation time can be queried through the front-end API, where the last transaction recorded is the first purchase transaction by the developer, which can be used to obtain the token's creation time.
