The standard operational methods for a project in the last cycle were:

  1. Prepare materials

  2. Set up Twitter, TG, Discord

  3. Conduct giveaways and activities to boost social data to at least tens of thousands

  4. Create a points program to generate airdrop expectations and inflate on-chain data

  5. Negotiate listings, organize a wave of KOL rounds + pre-listing promotions

  6. Endure the criticism of airdrop PUA while completing the listing and selling off

To put it simply, traffic comes from:

  1. Activity platforms like Galaxy, Quest3, etc.

  2. Airdrop hunting accounts on Twitter and TG

  3. Exchanges and KOLs

But this round has completely changed. As @keyahayek K said, for the first time, new users are entering directly on-chain rather than on exchanges, starting with a Dexscreener + Phantom wallet.

Previously, it took 6 steps to onboard new investors; now it only takes 3: Scan the chain - Determine the angle - Get on board.

Friends who scan the chain usually first look at the candlestick chart, then check Twitter and wallet monitoring platforms for angles.

People no longer care about a project's "social data metrics," but rather the narrative (angle) and sentiment. On-chain data? My trading volume, number of holders, and smart money addresses are not weaker than your "on-chain data" generated from points.

For non-high-funding large projects, this means that at the start:

  1. On-chain trading team configuration priority > operations

  2. Visually impactful and infectious > convoluted technical narratives

  3. Simple front-end interactive products > complex to-B products

  4. Chain scanning platforms + KOLs = traffic masters

Why do AI agent memes like @TopHat_One perform well? Because P juniors can determine whether a memecoin is a pump-and-dump scheme in just 30 seconds; something that is immediately interactive is a huge plus, allowing for quick entry.

This essentially sentences many previously purely on-chain non-trading projects to death (including pure social, identity, middleware, and deeply complex mechanism games). As I said last year, this is the last bull market for the purists. Future users will not know what ZK, sharding, or L2 are. The cognitive barrier has significantly lowered, leading to true mass adoption.

In its place are event-driven viral marketing experts, where a dev can create a simple interactive, highly shareable small page or gadget in a few days, or host a live stream, which can perform much better than a closed-door project that has been building for three years.

Whether DEX or CEX, they are all "cryptocurrency exchanges." If you can't handle the currency, everything else is pointless.
