After 5 weeks, the Solana Radar Hackathon has officially concluded. This event included project founders from over 120 countries, more than 10,000 participants, and 1,359 project submissions, ultimately competing for 35 noteworthy projects across seven tracks. A CoinGecko survey shows that Solana remains the most popular blockchain among investors in 2024, with a popularity rating of 38.79%. Various metrics of the Solana ecosystem also rank among the top across all chains.
Currently, Solana is experiencing a strong momentum, and the quality of the award-winning projects in the DeFi, gaming, and payment tracks is quite good, with many projects proposing new concepts and mechanisms. Additionally, the consumer applications, DAO, infrastructure, and Depin tracks have also birthed many projects worth attention and research. Many of these projects are in their early stages, making them worthy of user participation and profit.
Here is a brief introduction to the award-winning projects from this hackathon's seven tracks:
Consumer Applications Track
First Prize: pregame
pregame is a P2P sports entertainment platform that currently offers betting on sports events such as the NFL and MLB, with predictions for soccer, NBA, NHL, tennis, and golf coming soon. The minimum bet for each game is currently $50.
Second Prize: trenches.top
trenches.top is a platform that tokenizes the reputation of Memecoin Alpha traders' "calls." Callers synchronize their records on their Telegram group, and the platform ranks them based on their token profitability. Traders can profit by speculating on Caller rankings or by following the top-ranked Memecoin Callers for trading.
Third Prize: Genesis
Genesis is a tokenized intellectual property investment platform that allows users to create custom content and rewards their participation.
Fourth Prize: FANPLAY
FANPLAY is a betting platform themed around a "hamster race" game, currently on Arbitrum, where users bet ETH or USDC to support their favorite hamster, with plans to expand to the Solana network soon.
Fifth Prize: Wink
Wink is a template trading market for creating Blink _ (Odaily Planet Daily Note: Blink is a specific component on Solana that can be integrated into applications for fast, seamless interactions) _. Users can utilize these ready-made templates to generate Blink for different trades or on-chain operations. Blink is a shareable link that allows users to execute trades or create dApps on the Solana chain. It is built using the blinks & action technology created by Dialect, initially a simple link that transforms into a functional interface when expanded on supported platforms.
DeFi Track
First Prize: SQUEEZE
SQUEEZE is a token issuance platform that allows users to use leverage to go long/short at the time of token issuance. Squeeze does not destroy LP during the token issuance period but locks and manages LP by splitting it into multiple concentrated liquidity positions on Raydium. Traders can borrow from these positions without bearing bad debt risk, unfair liquidation, or high fee volatility, providing users with a reliable way to long/short tokens. Currently, it plans to support the issuance of Memecoins and aims to support more tokens in the future, but it cannot support low market cap, high volatility tokens with leverage.
Second Prize: Darklake (formerly Blackpool)
Darklake is a trading platform that supports ZK proofs and is the first DEX on Solana to provide real-time, MEV-resistant order execution, offering higher efficiency for DeFi through fast, private trading. It is currently in the Solana development network, and its roadmap and token-related information have not been disclosed. Users can obtain test tokens for experience.
Third Prize: Pye
Pye is a yield market that allows stakers to tokenize their staking rewards and resell them at a discount to market platforms, unlocking a $500 billion (and growing) PoS market, as well as over $40 billion in staking rewards to be unlocked in the coming year. The product team has previously founded and launched projects such as Maker DAO, Covalent, Badger DAO, Rated Network, Psy Options, and Armadafi.
Fourth Prize: Neutral Trade
Neutral Trade is an on-chain multi-strategy hedge fund created by experienced quantitative analysts and traders from Goldman Sachs, Barclays, and the world's top hedge funds, along with seasoned Web3 developers. It seeks stable high returns through Delta neutral trading strategies. Its first product, JLP Delta Neutral Vault, operates on the Drift contract market with an APY of 79.18%.
Fifth Prize: Watt
Watt is a volatility mining protocol that allows users to perform unilateral staking of any token on Solana. This includes wrapped tokens and is applicable to Solana Memecoins, currently in the waitlist application phase.
Gaming Track
First Prize: Supersize
Supersize is a real-time, fully on-chain, high-risk multiplayer game powered by Magicblock. Supersize is a game similar to "Agar.io": players appear as dots and must eat or be eaten to become the largest player on the map. Larger players move slower than smaller players but can consume tokens to propel themselves forward and eat others. Supersize can be played using any token on Solana. Players can buy in to join the game and can exit at any time to receive scores in token form.
Second Prize: The Arena
The Arena is a PvP social trading game where users can deposit USDC to trade with opponents, aiming to become the best trader to earn rewards. It is currently in the waitlist application phase.
Third Prize: Windfall
Windfall is the first game-based Liquid Staking Token (LST) project. Its core concept is to gamify DeFi, collaborating with Solana NFTs, memes (like Bonk), and other IPs to provide various casual and fun luck-based games. Its prize pool comes from opportunities, with users depositing SOL, which is converted to windSOL through Sanctum and re-staked via Fragmetric for dual returns. Similarly, the game also supports users depositing stablecoins, ETH, and BTC to earn rewards deposited into the prize pool through staking protocols. Beyond simply leveraging IP, the project has also designed community collaboration games, with over 20,000 users on the waitlist.
Fourth Prize: Barnfight
Barnfight is a platform that creates and participates in games using Memecoins. Users can choose 2 to 6 tokens to create and start their own games, setting the rules. Any token issued on Solana can be included, and participants are ranked from high to low based on the amount of bets placed. Game creators can decide which projects participate, which rankings win, and how to distribute prizes to users.
Fifth Prize: Quantro
Quantro is a PvP ETF trading game that allows users to build ETFs with 1,000,000 virtual dollars and compete in a PvP style for 2x, 10x, or 100x returns with minimal investment.
Crypto Infrastructure Track
First Prize: txtx
txtx is a developer platform for engineering teams to utilize runbooks, transforming smart contract infrastructure management into a secure, repeatable, and skilled developer experience. Runbooks set a new standard for Web3 infrastructure, allowing users to seamlessly deploy contracts on Eclipse and Solana through txtx.
Second Prize: Tokamai
Tokamai is a developer tool for discovering program errors on the Solana chain and conducting real-time monitoring. It can detect program errors on the Solana chain before users do, providing real-time on-chain program monitoring and alerts, with fast detection, analysis, and repair speeds.
Third Prize: Chakra Labs
Chakra Labs is an end-to-end decentralized file storage network, a free-to-use end-to-end encrypted file storage solution supported by Solana, Irys, and Lit.
Fourth Prize: Verve
Verve is an open-source embedded smart wallet infrastructure. Verve aims to create an open-source embedded smart wallet infrastructure using account abstraction and ZK compression. This wallet is not managed through multi-party keys but uses a guardian model—allowing users to assign any number of guardians to their smart accounts and grant them different roles and permission levels. Thanks to the ZK compression of the Light Protocol, creating smart accounts with Verve only incurs transaction fees. This enables applications of any scale to offer embedded wallets to new users at almost no cost. Moreover, since Verve's smart accounts are entirely on the Solana chain, they do not face the risk of service cancellation by external service providers.
Fifth Prize: Dashy
Dashy is a wallet cluster management tool that allows users to manage portfolios across multiple wallets while isolating them in clusters based on their use, ensuring that fund combinations do not get mixed up.
DePIN Track
First Prize: svachsakthi
svachsakthi is an off-grid renewable energy project built on the Solana network, focusing on solar energy.
Second Prize: AdX.so
AdX.so is a decentralized advertising trading platform built on a use-case optimized SVM (Solana VM), leveraging blockchain technology to enhance transparency, efficiency, and privacy in digital advertising. The platform supports real-time (cryptographic blind auction) bidding to deliver targeted digital ads to audiences on websites or applications, with the process traceable to the Solana network for verification and settlement between advertisers and publishers. Advertisers design ads, manage creatives, and utilize real-time, targeted ad placements. Publishers can easily manage and integrate assets (websites, blogs, applications) and generate embed codes to start monetizing through content.
Third Prize: CURA
CURA is a DePIN pet collar for pet enthusiasts, launching the first DePIN+Edge AI smart pet collar, with a mobile pet service app coming soon.
Fourth Prize: NetSepio
NetSepio is a decentralized VPN and WiFi hotspot provider that enhances global network security through Social DePIN, allowing users to contribute to a decentralized network, transforming individuals into authorized nodes that promote security, privacy, and universal access, thereby democratizing network security access. It actively monitors and mitigates network threats in real-time using AI technology; employs ZK and advanced encryption techniques to ensure user privacy, security, and data integrity; and enables users to contribute to and manage the network, ensuring transparency and node incentives.
Fifth Prize: Kiko Network
Kiko Network Kiko is a user-centric DePIN network for climate monitoring, built on Solana, aimed at tracking real-time weather and air quality data from globally distributed nodes, allowing users to actively contribute environmental data as "weather stations."
DAO & Network Nation Track
First Prize: AlphaFC
AlphaFC is a fan-operated community platform that provides football fans with real decision-making power and financial stakes through club shares (a token that allows fans to vote on key decisions such as scouting, trades, and team management). Its features include a MyTeam page for managing player rosters, trading shares, and voting on proposals. AlphaFC is acquiring a Level 6 English football club and expanding through a SaaS model to attract more teams and expand into other sports.
Second Prize: Marshmallow
Marshmallow is an application that teaches children financial literacy through tools on the Solana chain, focusing on saving, earning money, and setting goals. Children learn financial management by completing tasks, setting financial goals, and receiving savings rewards set by their parents. Marshmallow reimagines the piggy bank as a family DAO, with no KYC barriers, usable globally.
Third Prize: Bizzed
Bizzed is a community platform for assessing and collectively investing in small and medium-sized enterprises. It uses AI to conduct market analysis, financial forecasting, due diligence, etc., to decide whether to invest.
Fourth Prize: LivingIP
LivingIP is a platform for collaborative storytelling on-chain, enabling DAOs and network nations to develop their narratives through community contributions and voting, allowing the creation of cNFTs to prove their on-chain contributions.
Fifth Prize: Blonk
Blonk is a Telegram bot that allows users to create groups using Squads multi-signature and support collective actions through Solana Blink.
Payment Track
First Prize: International Stable Currency (ISC)
ISC's product FXSwap is a DEX focused on non-USD stablecoins, aimed at enhancing the liquidity of all non-USD stablecoins and RWA, bringing foreign exchange trading on-chain to enable effective exchanges between foreign currencies and stablecoins, allowing stablecoins to meet liquidity needs for cross-DeFi protocol integration. It has currently partnered with Etherfuse, VNX, BRLA, and Ripe.
Second Prize: Hylo
Hylo is a stablecoin protocol supported by Solana LST, which has launched two core tokens: hyUSD stablecoin and xSOL leveraged token, with the collateral for both tokens supported by different SOL LSTs. xSOL and hyUSD have a symbiotic relationship, with xSOL leveraging SOL price fluctuations to keep hyUSD pegged to the dollar at a 1:1 ratio during market volatility. Meanwhile, the yields generated from the protocol's LST reserves are distributed to xSOL holders.
Third Prize: Split Finance
Split Finance is a classic Payfi solution, "Buy Now Pay Never," where its yield derivatives market splits yield assets into principal and yield tokens, allowing users to pay fees with the yields obtained from staked assets.
Fourth Prize: Ribh
Ribh is a payment solution for small and medium-sized enterprises in emerging markets, allowing users to apply for a physical or virtual Dollar spending card to make quick payments to business partners in over 40 countries/regions using held USDC, with real-time settlement and low fees.
Fifth Prize: Quartz
Quartz is a cryptocurrency spending solution on Solana, allowing users to spend the value of cryptocurrencies through bank transfers or self-custody debit cards without needing to sell their cryptocurrencies. Quartz uses smart contracts on Solana to coordinate user funds, with funds deposited into Quartz automatically directed to the protocol with the highest yield and lowest interest rate at the time. Quartz regularly checks available rates on integrated platforms. When cashing out (Off-ramp), Quartz borrows USDC loans from these platforms and withdraws them, so users do not need to sell their cryptocurrencies. Additionally, Quartz can only transfer funds between platforms and cannot withdraw deposits from platforms without user authorization; only wallets that deposited funds can withdraw funds.
