Climbing mountains with kids, I find that they have more perseverance and a spirit of exploration than I imagined—

In the past, I used to hold back a bit, but now I mostly just follow behind to ensure their safety and answer their questions!

They can do more of what they love without needing adults at all, using branches and rocks for support on steep areas, excitedly shouting when the novelty hits, and relaxing their pace on gentle trails to enjoy every moment.

I always thought kids didn’t understand much, but in fact, they have learned patience, persistence, and respect for nature. They have also learned to find joy in nature, which is a wonderful thing!

I plan to climb a mountain every week in the future. Getting close to nature also lifts my spirits!
