I once wrote a tweet about the cost of living in Singapore. If living as a non-citizen or PR without children, the monthly living cost can be compressed to around 2,200 SGD, which is about 12,000 RMB or 1,700 USD in fixed costs.

This includes 1,000 SGD for rent (shared HDB), 20 SGD for daily meals, 200 SGD for utilities, broadband, and phone cards each month, and insurance is also necessary. Living without insurance in Singapore can be quite scary, so an average of 200 SGD per month is required.

Currently, the minimum salary requirement for an Employment Pass (EP) in Singapore is 5,000 SGD, which is about 27,000 RMB or 3,800 USD. Therefore, you need to have at least 5,000 SGD in your account to pay yourself a monthly salary. Of course, besides salary, there are other expenses, such as taxes, which amount to 1,950 SGD paid annually, translating to about 162.5 SGD per month.

Adding some toiletries, the average monthly total comes to 200 SGD. This brings the total expenditure to 2,200 SGD, which I calculated should be the minimum living cost; going lower would be quite difficult.

The traditional bank savings interest rate in Singapore is around 3%. To achieve a passive income of 2,200 SGD, you would need 880,000 SGD in savings, which is about 4.8 million RMB or 640,000 USD.

That seems like a lot, but in the crypto space, if we consider a 10% return, around 200,000 USD would suffice. A stable 10% return on 200,000 USD can still be managed, though it might be a bit exhausting. For example, by arbitraging the USDT and FDUSD exchange rates while also benefiting from LaunchPool yields, you could achieve an annualized return of about 10%. Alternatively, holding 400 #BNB could also yield passive income.

This should be the minimum requirement. If living a normal personal life with a private room and slightly higher living quality, along with some social needs, a monthly budget of 5,000 SGD is necessary. In fact, two adults living together can save more. For a more luxurious lifestyle, around 10,000 SGD per person would allow for a decent living, although it may not be extravagant every night, it would cover basic dating expenses.

The cost required for a monthly expenditure of 5,000 SGD would need about 460,000 USD in disposable stablecoins, or roughly 1,000 BNB. For a monthly expenditure of 10,000 SGD, you would need about 920,000 USD in disposable stablecoins, or 2,000 BNB, or alternatively, 1,000 BNB along with around 500,000 USD in savings.

If you want to enjoy the freest lifestyle in Singapore and have a lavish lifestyle every night, you would need around 80,000 SGD, while a slightly lower standard would still require about 50,000 SGD in monthly expenses. This means you would need at least nearly 5 million USD in disposable stablecoin assets to live comfortably. Of course, trading is not included, as no one can guarantee a 100% profit, although 10% is not too much.
