If Trump wins the 2024 election by a narrow margin, he might really have to thank Crypto.

Why? 👇

• The number of Crypto investors in the U.S. has reached 90 million;
• Crypto investors are generally younger;
• In past elections, young people have been less likely to vote;
• Trump's crypto-friendly policies may have driven these young people, who otherwise had no intention of voting, to participate.

First, according to a report from http://security.org, the estimated number of cryptocurrency holders in the U.S. has reached 93 million, meaning over 30% of Americans own cryptocurrency.

Moreover, I can also indirectly support this from Coinbase's financial report. In 2023, Coinbase registered users reached 115 million, although this includes some overseas users, the majority are still from the U.S.

Secondly, according to a survey by Pew Research, currently, 42% of Crypto users are aged 18-29, significantly higher than other age groups. The second largest age group is 30-49, accounting for 36%.

This aligns with our general understanding.

Next, this is also an interesting phenomenon: in past U.S. elections, the most active voting demographic tends to be older, while young people are less likely to vote.

This partly explains why both parties initially fielded "old men" as candidates, as the electorate itself is older.

Here, I am using voting registration data released by Statista Research Department in 2024.

We can see that the voting rate for those aged 18-34 is the lowest, and this demographic happens to match the profile of Crypto investors.

Young people do not have a strong motivation to vote: firstly, they are not very concerned about politics, and secondly, they do not like "old men," thinking, "What does voting have to do with me?"

However, if they happen to own some cryptocurrency, the situation changes completely.

This motivation seems strong enough; I believe everyone can strongly feel this in the crypto stronghold—Twitter (X).

Additionally, including cryptocurrency holders, there is extra enthusiasm for Trump on crypto betting sites (the winning odds are always higher than on similar sites).

Therefore, if Trump does win by a narrow margin, we have reason to believe that it was the cryptocurrency holders who changed the game.

Trump brought a bull market to Crypto, and Crypto brought Trump the presidency.
