Alliance has been dubbed the YC of the Web3 space for incubating popular products like pump.fun and moonshot. Recently, at its ALL13 Demo Day, 11 startups showcased their projects. These teams are building products across vertical industries, covering global payments, DeFi, DePIN, AI, and more. Below are introductions to these 11 projects.
Offramp (Stablecoin on Telegram)
Problem: Stablecoin users in emerging markets rely on local and peer-to-peer exchanges to convert their stablecoins into fiat currency. This conversion method is costly, with fees ranging from 3-8%, and there is a risk of bank account freezes.
Solution: Offramp allows global users to conduct real-world transactions using stablecoins through Telegram mini apps. Users can fund their VISA cards with stablecoins, receive payments from US banks, and access savings and investment products. This reduces fees and protects users' local bank accounts from crypto-related payments, eliminating the risk of account freezes.
Starpower (DePIN Energy Management Protocol)
Problem: The transition to renewable energy has significantly increased the volatility of the global power grid. Renewable energy sources like wind and solar cannot provide stable power, leading to mismatches between energy production and consumption.
Solution: StarPower addresses this challenge with a two-part solution:
Integration with Equipment Manufacturers: By integrating with equipment manufacturers, StarPower creates home energy devices (like home batteries, solar panels, and electric vehicles) connected to the Internet. This enables seamless communication between devices to create "virtual power plants" (VPPs) that can adjust energy usage during low or high demand periods.
User Growth Incentives: Unlike traditional energy networks, StarPower leverages cryptocurrency incentives to drive user growth. Users can contribute devices or participate in demand response programs to earn tokens. This crypto-driven incentive structure fosters rapid user growth and network effects that traditional competitors find hard to achieve.
Amihan (Web3 Game Service on Telegram)
Problem: Even excluding all chatbots, Telegram mini apps have over 100 million users. However, most Telegram mini apps offer shallow user experiences and have short lifespans, especially in the gaming sector. The penetration rate of games on Telegram mini apps is only 20%, in stark contrast to the game penetration rates in Android or Apple app stores.
Solution: "Farm Frens" is a lucrative "coin raider" game that leans towards real users due to its hyper-casual nature (ease of play), but its frequent content updates (every 1-2 weeks) make it difficult for bots to adapt.
DataHive (Decentralized AI Data Collection Platform)
Problem: Training AI models requires vast amounts of web data; however, over 55% of websites now block AI crawlers, leading to a severe data shortage.
Solution: DataHive is a decentralized AI data collection platform that bypasses website blocks through real users' devices. By installing the DataHive browser plugin, users can earn tokens from their normal browsing, while DataHive accesses accurate, unblocked web data, which is collected and processed directly in the user's browser.
WavLeaks (Crowdfunding and Trading Exclusive Songs)
Problem: Streaming services have shielded the music industry from digital piracy, successfully monetizing music. However, every fan pays the same low subscription fee. Artists never have the opportunity to upsell to passionate fans, creating a gap in the market.
Solution: WavLeaks allows fans to crowdfund exclusive songs. Fans invest in songs to earn tokens, which are necessary for listening and can be traded on the market. This means artists can earn ongoing revenue from transaction fees, and there is no limit to the amount fans can pay.
Whalefare ("Slot Machine" Game)
Problem: Most players in current crypto games are speculators, jumping from one game to another, resulting in low user retention. These games tend to cater to airdrop hunters rather than creating games for players seeking deeper, more strategic gameplay.
Solution: "Whalefare" combines casino-style gambling with card-building strategy depth to provide lasting enjoyment. Players in "Whalefare" build cities by spinning slot machines, strategically managing the symbols that appear on the machines to influence their gameplay. "Whalefare" leverages simple dopamine stimulation to attract players while using cryptocurrency as a reward distribution mechanism.
Qiro (RWA Underwriting Market)
Problem: Due to misestimation of underwriting risks, DeFi private credit suffers losses four times higher than traditional finance. These protocols rely on asset originators for credit assessments, causing failures in a system that is trusted but opaque. This leads to financing of low-quality loans and misrepresentation of financial conditions, resulting in significant losses.
Solution: Qiro establishes a decentralized network of underwriters to protect loan protocols from credit risk. Protocols can leverage the expertise of top underwriters in the Qiro network to secure high-quality loans. Most importantly, Qiro eliminates reliance on originators by introducing a neutral network of third-party experts incentivized to select the best loans.
Kiss or Rug (Dating App Balancing Gender Ratio)
Problem: Most dating apps use algorithmic matching of attractive (but unattainable) profiles to keep users hopeful. While this method has proven effective for profitability, women face rampant harassment, while men see little success. This imbalance is reflected in the gender ratio of most dating apps (8:2).
Solution: KissOrRug uses the prisoner's dilemma to help users find meaningful matches more quickly. Men stake money on bets, indicating their genuine interest in women and investing in finding the right match. If women reciprocate, both parties can keep their funds. If she does not reciprocate, the woman profits. The prisoner's dilemma serves not only as a natural filter for strong mutual interests but also rewards users for unnecessary attention.
Force Prime (Speculation Strategy Game)
Problem: Speculation has a clear product-market fit in the crypto space. As a result, many crypto games and applications leverage speculation to attract users. However, few can retain users.
Solution: Force Prime is a speculation strategy game. By executing complete game rounds on-chain and providing frequent content updates, Force Prime offers users a competitive game with depth and a native integrated speculation mechanism. Players can enjoy highly competitive non-bot gameplay, while speculators can bet on the game's outcomes. This will promote growth and retention of the game.
P2P.me (ZK-based Stablecoin Payment Channel in India)
Problem: Due to regulatory issues with deposits and withdrawals, crypto users in India (the fastest-growing geographic region) find it difficult to access blockchain. Centralized exchanges are prone to fraud, leading to the freezing of both exchange and user bank accounts. To mitigate this, exchanges have blocked users from withdrawing funds in rupees, cutting off access to the on-chain DeFi ecosystem. While P2P deposit and withdrawal methods are available, they are slow and rife with fraud.
Solution: P2P.me is a fully on-chain P2P trading platform that matches buyers and sellers with liquidity providers in real-time. Utilizing zk-TLS proofs, P2P.me can securely verify rupee bank transfers. Each rupee transfer verification triggers an exchange with USDC, making deposits and withdrawals fast and entirely on-chain.
RPS.LIVE (Live Betting Game)
Problem: The current online gambling game industry fails to attract the younger generation, with 70% of revenue coming from players over 50 years old. Although some live betting streams targeting Gen Z have emerged on TikTok, they face the same issue: they cannot scale globally when paid in fiat currency.
Solution: Hosts on the RPS.live platform can use cryptocurrency to create social games and place real-money bets. Speculators can join games led by hosts, strategize together, and place bets while watching the live stream. Speculators earn money by winning games or successfully placing bets.
