On October 29 local time, Magic Eden will open the airdrop claim for the official governance token ME's preliminary test token testME (specific time not announced), to help the community familiarize themselves with the claiming process before the official ME airdrop arrives. After the testME airdrop ends, Magic Eden will gradually announce the ME token economics and open the claim for the official ME token.

Although Magic Eden officials have repeatedly mentioned that testME has no economic value and do not encourage users to trade, considering that another major project in the Solana ecosystem, Jupiter, also airdropped the test token WEN before the JUP airdrop, which still has a market value exceeding 80 million dollars, testME may also have some market airdrop potential. It is recommended that all users waiting for the official ME airdrop claim testME in advance.

Since claiming testME and ME requires the use of the Magic Eden wallet client, the overall claiming process will be somewhat different from regular airdrop claims. In the past few days, several members of the Magic Eden team have disclosed the claiming process for testME in advance, and both the official Magic Eden X account and its co-founder and CEO Jack Lu's personal account have shared related updates.

Step 1: Eligibility Self-Check

The testME airdrop has set two eligibility criteria.

• First, an address that has recently used the Magic Eden platform, or an address that has purchased, sold, or accepted a transaction exceeding 100 dollars at least once in the past 6 months;

• Second, some addresses that have recently traded fungible tokens (i.e., regular tokens) selected randomly by Magic Eden.

After the airdrop opens, users can also verify through the official page provided by the ME Foundation .

Step 2: Download the Official Wallet

Claiming testME and ME requires the use of the Magic Eden wallet client, so we need to first install the Magic Eden Wallet — remember to access it from the official website, from the official website, from the official website!

You can choose to download the mobile wallet or the desktop browser wallet; most users may be more accustomed to the latter, but the former has a higher diamond accumulation speed bonus.

Step 3: Create a New Address

The third step is to create a new address through the Magic Eden Wallet; this step does not require much explanation, just be sure to keep the mnemonic phrase safe.

It is important to note that the mobile version of the Magic Eden Wallet only requires a password for registration, and the backup of the mnemonic phrase needs to be executed by the user in Settings - Security - Back Up.

Step 4: Connect to the Airdrop Page

This step requires opening the official airdrop page provided by the ME Foundation — the page has not yet been made public, please enter through the link released by official channels when the time comes.

After that, users can use the scan (Scan) function on the Magic Eden Wallet to connect the new address created in the previous step with that homepage.

Step 5: Associate Airdrop Address

It is important to emphasize that although claiming the airdrop requires using the Magic Eden Wallet, users do not need to import existing addresses that meet the airdrop requirements into the Magic Eden Wallet, but can directly associate them with other wallet addresses through the Link Wallet interface. Objectively, this design is quite user-friendly, effectively avoiding trust issues for new users regarding the Magic Eden Wallet.

You can simply understand that the existing address plays a role in eligibility verification in the airdrop, while the address in the Magic Eden Wallet plays a role in claiming the airdrop, and only the Magic Eden Wallet associated with a qualified address can claim the airdrop.

It is worth mentioning that since Magic Eden supports multiple networks, users with multiple chains and addresses may need to perform multiple association operations through this interface.

Step 6: Claim the Airdrop

After the association is complete, click Save and Exit to save the association status.

Then claim through the Claim testMe Now on the Magic Eden Wallet homepage.

It is worth mentioning that users need to provide a small amount of SOL as gas cost to the Magic Eden Wallet address to ensure the smooth completion of the claiming transaction.

In videos disclosed by several team members, each person received 987 testME tokens. Magic Eden has also mentioned in official documents that "each eligible address can only claim testME once, and all eligible wallets will receive the same fixed amount of tokens," so this may be the final airdrop amount that a single address can obtain.
