The industry-standard decentralized computing platform Chainlink recently announced that it will hold its annual flagship conference SmartCon in Hong Kong at the end of October. Following the successful SmartCon conferences in New York and Barcelona in 2022 and 2023, this is Chainlink's first SmartCon in Asia— the conference will kick off with a two-day Hacker House at the Kerry Hotel on October 28 and 29, followed by an exciting agenda on multiple stages at the main venue on October 30 and 31.

Integrating DeFi & TradFi

As Chainlink's flagship conference, SmartCon 2024 focuses on showcasing the integration of blockchain and traditional finance, bringing together leading DeFi protocols like Aave with the world's largest financial institutions and market infrastructures such as Swift, Euroclear, and ANZ Bank. The audience is expected to be composed of 40% Web3, 40% capital markets, and 20% enterprise and blockchain researchers, discussing hot industry topics such as the tokenization of real-world assets, stablecoins, cross-chain interoperability, the intersection of AI and blockchain, capital market lifecycle transformation, and regional digital asset ecosystems.

Upgraded Guest Lineup

Last year's SmartCon in Barcelona attracted thousands of participants, including Mr. Chan Ho Lam, Deputy Secretary for Financial Services and the Treasury of Hong Kong, former Google CEO Eric Schmidt, Mr. Leung Hon King, Global Head of Financial Services and FinTech at Invest Hong Kong, and Qian Jiang, Director of Capital Markets and Digital Assets at Swift.
