Lumoz Leads OP Stack and ZK Technology Innovation, Upgrading Blockchain Scalability and Security

Summary: This article introduces Lumoz's technological breakthroughs in combining OP Stack and ZK Proof, enhancing performance and security. The new zk-proposer component simplifies integration, reduces maintenance difficulty, and ensures network stability. The upgrade plan synchronizes on-chain data and proof processes, optimizes contract logic, and eliminates vulnerabilities. The innovative solution reduces verification delays and costs, laying a foundation for security. The new architecture supports seamless transitions of OP-Stack nodes to zk-Verifier nodes, enhancing ecological flexibility and consolidating Lumoz's leading position.

Lumoz is leading the development of blockchain scalability by optimizing the combination of OP Stack and ZK technology. Lumoz's latest solution integrates the flexibility of OP with the robust security of ZK technology, accelerating network verification while enhancing compatibility with blockchains like Ethereum. Specifically, Lumoz provides computational power support for this architecture while simplifying the integration process of ZK-Fraud Proof through innovative architectural optimizations, making the technology more efficient, secure, and easier to maintain.

The OP Stack and ZK modify the verification process of fraud proofs based on the original optimistic consensus of OP Stack, replacing the original challenge fraud proof with non-interactive ZK proofs. In the OP Stack + ZK solution, the op-batcher and op-proposer still play the same roles as in the original OP Stack, submitting transaction data and corresponding state roots generated on the Rollup to layer one. The difference is that the OP Stack + ZK introduces a new set of ZK Fraud Proof modules that will synchronize and execute the Rollup chain's state and data in real-time, generating corresponding proofs for the relevant data when needed and submitting them to layer one for verification. This significantly shortens the waiting time for validity verification. However, the entire set of ZK-Fraud Proof modules introduced by this solution is more complex than the original structure, requiring verification participants to maintain the ZK-Verifier nodes specifically.

Lumoz's latest optimization plan will improve the original architectural design by integrating the entire ZK-Fraud Proof module into the op-proposer component, upgrading it to zk-proposer, thereby significantly simplifying the complexity of node maintenance. In this new plan, the zk-proposer retains the original functions while adding a ZK interaction option. This option allows the proposer to directly initiate proof generation requests to the computational power network layer based on the execution results of on-chain data and submit the generated proof to the chain for verification.

As shown in the figure, this design allows any OP-Stack full node to quickly transform into a zk-Verifier node using OP-Stack's native components and participate in the network's verification process without incurring additional maintenance costs. Furthermore, since the layer one contract protocol remains unchanged, the original zkVerifier nodes can continue to provide verification services for the network, ensuring continuity and stability.

The new plan also optimizes the logic of the verification contract to better protect the consistency of contract data and off-chain states. In the original architecture, since the proof process only verifies the height of the second-layer block, there may be cases where the proof does not fully correspond to the actual on-chain data, posing potential security risks. By adding checks for the previous batch state root within the contract verification logic, the new plan ensures that each proof is indeed generated based on the correct and latest state root. This design ensures that the proof generation and verification process is closely linked to the real-time state of on-chain data, significantly enhancing the network's security and reliability.

As shown in the figure, after each batch is submitted to the chain, the proposer will also synchronize the corresponding state root of that batch in order into a specific array. Whenever a proof needs to be submitted to the contract for verification, the proposer will simultaneously pass the corresponding batch and the previous batch's state root to the contract. Only after the continuity check of the state root passes will the proof verification continue in the Verifier contract.

Lumoz is also exploring other possibilities of OP Stack + ZK. In the current solution, the network's trust is still based on optimistic assumptions, meaning that the network's security largely relies on challengers continuously checking and challenging transactions to ensure their validity. Compared to ZK-Rollup, which uses validity proofs, there is still room for improvement in security. From this perspective, Lumoz attempts to simulate the correctly executed network state transition process in the verifier nodes and provide ZK-based validity proofs for every state change within each interval. Similar to ZK-Rollup, these proofs will serve as direct evidence of the chain state’s validity without relying on challengers' interactive challenges. In this way, the network can significantly enhance overall security with minimal computational power costs while making almost no changes to the original service architecture.

Lumoz's OP Stack + ZK optimized architecture marks an important advancement in blockchain innovation, finding a perfect balance between speed, security, and simplicity. By replacing the original challenge mechanism with non-interactive ZK proofs, Lumoz achieves faster, more reliable transaction verification and a seamless verification process. In addition to enhancing scalability, the network's trust model is also more refined, reducing reliance on interactive challenges and providing a more efficient and proactive security solution for the future.

Conclusion

As Lumoz continues to optimize this architecture and explore more possibilities, it is committed to empowering users and partners through reliable and scalable blockchain solutions. This OP Stack + ZK innovation is just the beginning, and Lumoz's technological advancements are paving the way for new chapters in decentralized innovation. Stay tuned to witness the next step in the evolution of blockchain—the future driven by Lumoz.
