Background

Meme coins have been frequently mentioned during this cycle and are the strongest rising sector. Recently, KOL Murad gave a speech on the super cycle of meme coins at the TOKEN2049 conference, where he believes there will be a meme frenzy for another 8 to 14 months. He also released a list of meme coins he is optimistic about and has been aggressively promoting them. Among them, he is most bullish on SPX, which had a market cap of only about 10 million dollars when he first bought in, and is currently valued at approximately 750 million dollars, yielding a profit of up to 8.3 million dollars, thus becoming the new god of meme coins.

At the same time, he is actively "preaching" on Twitter, repeatedly mentioning coins such as SPX, GIGA, PEPE, SIGMA, APU, and POPCAT.

However, even before Murad vigorously promoted meme coins, many meme coin KOLs had been frequently calling out coins. WOO X Research has compiled the performance of the coins they called out since October in this article to explore who the true king of meme calls is.

Murad @MustStopMurad

Call style: Prefers cult-style meme coins, with SPX being mentioned the most, followed by GIGA and POPCAT. The meme coins recommended by Murad mostly have market caps between 300M and 1.5B, and he rarely calls out small-cap coins. Essentially, the current price requires a small increase to reach historical highs, indicating a smaller retracement for meme coins.

Ansem @blknoiz06

Introduction: The most well-known KOL on Solana, famous for calling out coins when SOL was at 1.5 dollars, subsequently calling out BONK and WIF, which achieved 80x and 500x increases, respectively.

Call style:

Ansem not only calls out meme coins but also includes "regular" projects like ENA, FTM, PRIME, CROWN, HNT, XNET, CHEX, etc. Recently, he has been very optimistic about the FTM chain, believing it will perform like SOL did back in the day, and he is actively promoting the meme coins GOGLZ and EQUAL. After his calls, the coin prices performed well, showing significant upward potential and small retracement.

The meme coins he called out are also of medium to high market cap, with WIF being mentioned the most, followed by MEW. However, his Twitter feed is quite chaotic, with retweets making up 80% of his posts, sometimes exceeding dozens in a day. Additionally, he has frequently retweeted Murad's posts, showing strong agreement with his meme philosophy and stating that he is also a member of Murad's team.

POW @traderpow

Introduction: An on-chain Degen player, with over 80,000 followers on Telegram, primarily sending timely 1.5-level meme coin call signals. Due to the high frequency of posts on Telegram and the focus on small-cap coins, the following statistics are based on mentions on Twitter, excluding Telegram calls. Among them, CB, LABUBU, and 🧲 are projects launched after October, with the increase calculated based on the closing price on the first day.

Call style: Prefers calling out small-cap meme coins. The previously mentioned CB, LABUBU, and 🧲 have all retraced over 50% from their peaks. Except for MOG, MEW, and SPX, the other coins are all over 40% away from their historical highs, indicating that POW is more skilled at short-term PVP meme calls, but performs poorly from a long-term perspective.

POΞ@Poe_Ether

Introduction: A Degen with nearly 200,000 Twitter followers and over 40,000 followers on Telegram. The average reading volume on Twitter is about 15,000.

Call style: Makes a large number of calls, mostly for medium to small-cap coins, and the calls are quite timely. The public chains involved include not only ETH and SOL but also BASE and SUI, with GIGA being the most frequently called out. Among them, SPX, GIGA, BITCOIN, GOAT, HODL, LOCKIN, and KEYCAT have shown small retracement, with the worst performance being those related to current events and DOGE-themed concepts.

Conclusion

The coins mentioned by all four KOLs include SPX, followed by GIGA, BITCOIN, and MOG, which were mentioned by three of them. A common feature is that they all have "cult attributes."

It is worth mentioning LOCKIN, which has also made the ordinary user @ctlarp famous. He has firmly held this coin for 136 days before the publication deadline, with a value exceeding 700,000 dollars. His Twitter page is entirely filled with content related to this coin, perfectly fitting the "cult atmosphere."

Returning to the four KOLs mentioned in this article, they are all well-known meme players, but their styles of "calling out coins" differ.

From the statistical results, Murad appears to be the most stable, while POW and POE excel at PVP, and Ansem is venturing into new territory with FTM.

Is the meme super cycle just beginning? Let's use time to verify.
