What are the differences between Ukraine and China during the Anti-Japanese War?
The first difference is that Ukraine brought this upon itself, purely self-inflicted. Why keep nuclear weapons if you don't use them to deter invasion? Moreover, peace was offered to you long ago with the Minsk agreements, which you did not comply with.
The second point is to talk about practical matters; Ukraine's depth is still insufficient. Another example of insufficient depth is France, which was defeated by Germany in just a few days. However, France was wise and immediately surrendered. After surrendering in World War II, France actually aligned with Germany against the Allies, and as a result, due to De Gaulle, France was able to secure a permanent seat on the UN Security Council after the war. They were arguably the biggest beneficiaries of World War II, aside from the United States, and they didn't lose much of their colonies.
In fact, the Soviet Union's performance was not much better than France's; they were also quickly pushed back to their capital by the Germans. But the Soviet Union had depth, and perhaps it was also due to American assistance that they managed to endure.
Therefore, Ukraine is more similar to France of that time.
