Why has the meme coin trend just begun?

The reason mentioned by @MustStopMurad in his speech is that retail investors do not care about technology or privacy. What they really care about is:

Can they make money?

Is it interesting?

Is there a sense of belonging?

In the coming years, there will be an ideological battle between bottom-up meme coins and VC coins.

My view is that meme coins and VC coins are not completely binary opposites. As a trend, meme coins will force more VCs and projects to embrace memes and adopt fairer token issuance methods.

A clear signal is that major emerging public chains are supporting their own meme ecosystems. Even a traditional DeFi protocol like @IBXtrade (with a total trading volume of over $1.1 billion in contract DEX) has recently chosen to launch the meme coin $ARTIC, rather than a "governance token" like in the last cycle.
