September 1st, school started. My daughter's school moved 2 kilometers away. In the safe environment where Chinese people secretly enjoy themselves, it's impossible for her to walk to school.
Every morning at 7:45, I have to ride an electric bike to take my daughter to school. Facing the rising sun, although I am very tired, I am very proud and proud!
It's been two weeks, and I've noticed an interesting phenomenon, which is that there are two major intersections on the way:
At one intersection, the traffic signal is an "AND gate", which means that if the east-west direction has a green light, then the north-south direction must have a red light, and pedestrians or non-motor vehicles in one direction cannot pass. Sometimes, even if there are no cars passing by and there is no danger, everyone still waits honestly. But as a person of the world, I just run the red light and leave a large group of people behind!
At the other intersection, the traffic light is considered an "OR gate", where all the lanes for motor vehicles are red, and pedestrians and non-motor vehicles from all four directions can pass at the same time. Suddenly, the crowd and electric bikes surge out like the Qiantang River tidal bore. What is amazing is that the surges from all four directions, seemingly about to collide, not only do not slow down, but also accelerate. Just like waves, these surges quickly avoid each other when they are about to collide, without any impact on each other. Each person and each electric bike are squeezing through, twisting and turning, using all their intelligence and wisdom to find the best path to pass through at high speed, without any blockage, without anyone directing traffic. It seems that everyone understands each other.
After observing for more than ten days, I found that the pass-through rate and efficiency of the second intersection, managed by the red light, are much higher than the first one.
Isn't this the root of the vitality and efficiency of free economy compared to planned economy?
