CASTILE is a 3A idle RPG and Roguelike game set in the fantasy Cthulhu universe on the Aptos ecosystem. Its developer, Nytro Lab, recently announced the completion of an $8 million financing round, led by SevenX Ventures, with participation from OKX Ventures, Aptos Labs, HashKey Capital, and other institutions.

The game has completed its Alpha testing and launched its Beta testing on September 10th at 20:00 (Beijing time). Early participants will have the opportunity to win CAST tokens by participating in the beta version. As of the time of writing, the floor price of CASTILE's Genesis NFT series TAROT on NFT trading platforms OpenSea and Blur exceeds 1.2 ETH.

Fundamental Introduction

Team: Nytro Lab is a Web3 game studio that has introduced the "Play and Trade" game mode, which aims to attract a large number of paying players with game quality and an attractive trading system, allowing users to earn income in a more sustainable way.

According to the RootData page, the co-founder of Nytro Lab is Arthur Kao, who is also the co-founder of CASTILE's development company Nytro Lab. Previously, he was the investment director of SevenX Ventures and the head of the ChainHill Capital gaming fund. According to Nytro Lab's official introduction, CASTILE is the team's core work, which has been developed over three years with an investment of tens of millions of dollars.

Funding: On September 10th, the project announced an $8 million financing round, led by SevenX Ventures, with strategic investment from OKX Ventures, and participation from HashKey Capital, Aptos, Amber Group, Matr1x, Leland Ventures, and other well-known institutions. Nytro Lab has raised a total of $25 million in funding.

Game Mechanism: In CASTILE, players focus on strategically collecting and nurturing heroes to build a team capable of overcoming various in-game challenges. The story takes place after your team defeats the Corrupted Valkyrie and is transported to Pucela, leaving only you and another hero alive. Each team initially consists of five heroes, including warriors, tanks, assassins, enhancers, controllers, mages, and ADCs. In addition to these professions, there are also bonds between factions and specific characters, requiring flexible team compositions to deal with a series of challenges.

The single-player PvE mode includes main quests, the Gates of Hell, and trials of the Dark Emperor. In cooperative PvE content, players can participate in the Forbidden Magic Prison and maze-like dungeon adventures. Additionally, the game offers various PvP battles and GvE challenges in the form of competitive arenas, encouraging alliance cooperation. In short, the game involves storytelling, dungeon raids, guild activities, world bosses, and enhancing combat power through equipment and card synthesis by selecting suitable hero combinations.

Products: The current focus of CASTILE's products is the Genesis NFT (TAROT) and Tarot Coins. For TAROT, it is the most powerful hero combat accessory in the game, which can activate Tarot sets by wearing specific tarot cards, thereby gaining game privileges and powerful attributes. These privileges include:

• Game Combat Power: NFT (TAROT) holders will directly enjoy combat power bonuses in the in-game tarot card system.
• Elite Points Lottery: NFT (TAROT) holders automatically open the elite points prize pool and can obtain 3 lottery draws per day (updated at 00:00 UTC daily).
• Highest Invitation Reward Level: NFT (TAROT) holders can enjoy a 15% referral points and rebate rewards for consuming Tarot Coins through activity sharing links.

With the Beta version update, the game has also introduced a trading system:

Players can use Tarot Coins to purchase other players' equipment and items in the trading system, and can also list their own equipment and items in the trading system in exchange for Tarot Coins. According to the game design, Tarot Coins and u can be exchanged with each other. Currently, 200 Tarot Coins can be purchased for $0.99, and the reverse exchange channel has not been opened yet.

In addition, the Beta version has also introduced an activity called "Beta Lucky Draw," which runs from August 28, 2024, to October 10, 2024, with a total reward pool of $4 million in CAST. All registered players can participate in the draw. Each draw requires the consumption of 1 key. For regular players, they can obtain key rewards by participating in the Quest Points Weekly Leaderboard, where the top 10 players can receive key rewards. Additionally, during the Beta testing period, every 2000 Tarot Coins spent will earn 1 key. The more Tarot Coins spent, the more keys obtained. Furthermore, TAROT NFT holders will receive 3 keys for free each day.

Secondary Market Data

As of September 12th, sales data for TAROT on Opensea.io shows that there have been 183 instances of TAROT ownership, with a floor price of 1.99 ETH and a total transaction volume of 1582 ETH. Based on the current price of 1 ETH = $2359, this is worth approximately $3.73 million. Additionally, TAROT has had a 7-day trading volume of 58.16 ETH on Blur.

Token Economics: The governance token CAST of CASTILE has not been officially issued. The official disclosure states that the total supply limit of CAST tokens is 1 billion.

The CAST token will play the following roles in the Castile game and community:

Community governance and voting: Participate in the decision-making process and shape the future of the game.

Obtain core alliance membership: Obtain exclusive membership in the core alliance.

Production:

Seasonal rewards: Awarded to alliances and players as rewards at the end of the season.

Community expansion rewards: Rewards for players who contribute to community development.

Staking rewards: Distributed to players in the form of staking rewards.

Consumption:

Purchase game packs and resources: Enhance the game experience by obtaining various in-game items.

The Castile team will regularly repurchase and destroy CAST tokens.

Roadmap:

In the third and fourth quarters of 2024, Nytro Lab will launch the Castile Beta test. This includes the release of the first version of the Castile whitepaper and the issuance of the second generation NFT series based on Castile's game assets.

In 2025, Nytro Lab plans to update a new version of Castile and release more products.
