"10 million Majors! This is an amazing result! In less than 10 days, we have attracted so many users." On July 12th, Major, which claims to be the first on Telegram to adopt a ranking game mechanism, announced that its number of players has exceeded 10 million, with an average daily increase of over a million users.

In recent months, even though it has become commonplace for Ton's ecological projects to repeatedly refresh the number of users, Major's rapid breaking of 10 million users still has some astonishing implications in the Web3 industry.

What is Major and how to play?

Similar to the tone of most MiniAPPs on Telegram, Major's game mechanism also follows a "minimalist style." In the game, the sole goal of Major players is to obtain more stars. The more stars they have, the higher their ranking, and the more generous the rewards they can receive. Currently, Major provides TON token rewards for the top 100 users on the weekly leaderboard: 1st place - 150 tokens; 2nd place - 100 tokens; 3rd place - 70 tokens; 4th to 4th place - 50 tokens each; 6th to 10th place - 20 tokens each; 11th to 100th place - 5 tokens each.

As for the methods to obtain stars, they are nothing more than standard modes such as daily tasks, inviting others, and completing profiles. Inviting an ordinary user can earn 15 stars, while inviting a premium user can earn 50 stars. In addition to one-time rewards, users will also receive 5% of the stars obtained by the invited user through various methods. Major also announced the launch of a new spin feature today, allowing users to spin for rewards once a day for free, and an additional spin for every 10 people invited.

In addition, Major also has a "Boost Rank" pay-to-win mode. "RMB players" who like to recharge can purchase Major Stars through Telegram Stars to quickly improve their personal ranking. "Telegram Stars" is a virtual item and payment feature launched by Telegram in early June this year, supporting users to buy and sell digital goods on the platform, and can be purchased through Apple and Google or TON's ecological username auction platform Premium in-app purchases. When Major players purchase "pay-to-win services" on the Boost Rank page, they will be directed to Premium to purchase Telegram Stars directly.

Will it issue tokens soon? Are the 10 million users genuine?

According to the introduction from the project team, the stars in Major can be exchanged for valuable tokens in the future. Yesterday, Major announced a partnership with the cryptocurrency exchange BingX, and its token presale will be launched on the exchange.

The news that the token will be launched soon was also disclosed in Major's official Telegram channel, with the project team stating that the mining income (Farm) of $MAJOR tokens is related to the ranking, meaning the higher the ranking, the more tokens can be obtained.

According to public data, as of July 17th, Major's Telegram channel has reached 2.55 million subscribers, and the official X fans are 370,000. A week ago, Major announced in its Telegram channel that the number of players had reached 8 million, with over 2.5 million on-chain users.

However, PANews found some anomalies in the data after trying out the game today. Specifically, after logging into the game, 100 stars were first obtained from the daily rewards, followed by 500 stars from spinning, and the ranking rose from over 6 million to over 3 million. The achievement of 10 million users was announced by Major last week, and it should not be possible for millions of active users to be surpassed in ranking by newcomers who joined the game on the first day.

In addition, considering the widespread existence of a large number of "bot users" and the problem of opaque data in the Ton ecosystem, it is still unknown how much of Major's 10 million users are genuine.
