Berachain is a Layer 1 built on Cosmos, aiming to address common challenges faced by most Layer 1s using a Proof of Stake (PoS) mechanism. Berachain adopts the Liquidity Proof of Consensus (POLC) mechanism. The liquidity proof of Berachain is a novel Sybil resistance mechanism that uses a consensus treasury to calculate validator voting weights, allocate block rewards, and incentivize capital velocity and liquidity depth. Liquidity proof is a term created by Berachain, allowing users to stake various L1 tokens (wBTC, wAVAX, wETH, wADA, etc.) and stablecoins (USDC, DAI, etc.) to specific validators to receive block rewards. The consensus treasury measures and allocates voting weights and block rewards. This mechanism is used as liquidity proof to incentivize liquidity in the blockchain. Users stake different tokens and receive token rewards proportional to their staked funds. These staked assets help provide liquidity for Berachain's vAMM synthetic liquidity, enabling traders to buy and sell native perpetual futures trading and lending markets.

On April 12, 2022, Berachain completed a $100 million Series B financing, led by Brevan Howard Digital's Abu Dhabi branch and Framework Ventures, with other participants including Polychain Capital, Hack VC, and Tribe Capital.

On January 11, 2023, Berachain announced the launch of its public testnet Artio, attracting over 300,000 users and initiating over 1 million transactions within the first 48 hours of Artio's launch. Its innovative consensus mechanism is attractive, optimizing liquidity performance while maintaining compatibility with EVM. Berachain is still in its early stages, but those deeply integrated with Berachain's on-chain applications may stand out.

Unlike other public chain projects, Berachain is a meme chain originating from the Smoking Bear NFT, which can be traced back to the Bong Bears NFT series launched in August 2021. Many DeFi projects are also developed by the project team. This article takes stock of the Berachain ecosystem.

DeFi

Beradrome

Beradrome is a dex on Berachain, with ve(3,3) token economics, built-in bribery, voting mechanisms, and more. Beradrome is adapted from Solidly, launched by Andre Cronje. The project's design in terms of economic models is innovative, combining the veToken model in Curve and the (3,3) game theory in Olympus DAO to optimize liquidity incentives.

Beradrome also created an NFT series called "Tour de Berance," a collection of 6900 unique Berachain bears riding bicycles for liquidity competitions on Arbitrum.

Honeypot Finance

Honeypot Finance is a dex on Berachain, consisting of three main products: DreamPad, HenloDEX, and HiveNode.

• HelonDEX: A (Batch-A2MM) trading protocol with low slippage and anti-MEV features.
• DreamPad: A launchpad with an embedded trust layer (DAO), focusing on community-driven, deep liquidity, and fair launch mechanism (FTO), protecting users from front-running and preventing developer sell-offs.
• HiveNode: Deeply integrated with Berachain's PoL consensus mechanism, guiding consensus mechanism rewards from our products' liquidity and simplifying the PoL mining process.

Bera Infinity

The central hub for reward distribution in the Berachain ecosystem, rewarding valuable teams and individuals contributing to the Bera ecosystem.

BurrBear

BurrBear provides services for tokenized real-world assets (RWA) projects, DePIN projects, and stablecoin issuers, with three types of asset pools: multi-stablecoin pool, RWA pool, and token trading pool.

Scholes

A order book-based options trading protocol that allows participants to set prices for their options. Scholes aggregates liquidity from other protocols so users can get the best trade execution and liquidity.

Berrybad

A lending protocol in the Berachain ecosystem. The protocol is still under development and has not been launched yet.

Goldilocks

Goldilocks is dedicated to developing custom DeFi infrastructure for Berachain, mainly consisting of three products:

• Goldiswap: A novel AMM for managing the supply and price of LOCKS (Goldilocks' governance token).
• Goldilend: An innovative NFT lending platform specifically built for Bong Bear NFT and its variants.
• GoldiVaults: Allowing users to predict and trade future earnings of native DeFi protocols on Berachain.

Beraborrow

Stacking Salmon is a decentralized lending protocol on Berachain. Stacking Salmon is implemented as a set of smart contracts on Berachain, providing non-custodial, permissionless markets for decentralized lending and leveraged yield farming.

Y2K Finance

Y2K Finance is a suite of structured products designed for peg derivatives, enabling market participants to hedge or speculate on specific peg assets (or a basket of peg assets) securely.

HunnyPot

An AMM built on Berachain for trading, lending, and margin trading.

Grizzly.fi

A stablecoin AMM built on Berachain. It has four types of asset pools: stablecoin asset pool, platform token GHNY asset pool, mixed asset pool, and single asset asset pool.

Hiveswap

Built on BeraChain, Hiveswap is a community-driven, ecosystem-centric DEX. Hiveswap is a dual AMM (automated market maker) based on Uniswap and Curve (stableswap). Hiveswap implements dynamic fee tiers for trading pairs, allowing different fee rates to be set for each pool and different fees based on the direction of the trade (buying/selling).

Hiberanation

Similar to Beefy Finance, dedicated to automatic compounding strategies for maximizing yields.

Smilee

Smilee is an on-chain options protocol that supports volatility trading. The Smilee protocol is based on four main components:

• Decentralized Volatility Products (DVP): Minting impermanent yield options and future volatility products.
• Yield Treasury: Providing liquidity for minting and trading impermanent yield options.
• Liquidity Volatility Engine: Connecting the yield treasury with the impermanent yield treasury - converting previous liquidity into impermanent yield options.
• Synthetic AMM: Allowing trading of impermanent yield options.

Honey pool

HoneyPool is a blockchain-driven prize-linked savings account where users participate in daily lotteries by depositing assets, with the prize pool consisting of interest generated by all deposited funds. When deposits are made into HoneyPool, the deposit is automatically routed to other decentralized finance protocols such as Aave to start earning interest.

BeraCreek Finance

A lending protocol with isolated pools. Leveraging Berachain's novel liquidity proof consensus, BeraCreek Finance will allow borrowers to earn yields by participating in network consensus using their collateral.

Exponents

Exponents is a derivatives protocol without oracles. With zero reliance on price oracles, it will allow the creation of derivatives for any on-chain asset without the need for management control or governance listing votes. Anyone can create a derivatives market for a new token within minutes of its launch.

Beramuda Finance

A governance aggregator and yield optimizer for the Berachain ecosystem.

Orange Finance

Orange Finance is an automated liquidity management protocol that manages liquidity through delta hedging, intelligent liquidity management, automatic rebalancing, and more.

Moniswap

Moniswap is a decentralized exchange in the Berachain ecosystem with a governance model based on a voting lock mechanism.

Redacted cartel

Redacted Cartel is a DeFi yield protocol incubated by the New Order team, with multiple sub-products covering bribery market trading and LSD liquidity staking.

Kodiak

Kodiak is an innovative DEX that provides automated liquidity management for Berachain.

Ramen Finance

Ramen Finance is an LBP project in the Berachain ecosystem with ve(3,3) token economics.

Origami Finance

Origami Finance is an automatic leverage protocol that enhances yield potential through automatic leverage of yield-bearing tokens (YBT).

IVX

IVX is a native options protocol specifically built on Berachain, based on a chained options AMM, providing high leverage trading for retail users.

DEXYNTH

DEXYNTH is a derivatives trading platform that also offers a range of trading features including limit orders, stop-loss orders, and take-profit orders.

Gummi

Gummi is a dynamic money market designed for Berachain users to lend assets. Notably, Gummi also supports lending of the liquidity staking token iBGT.

Landx

Landx is a decentralized RWA platform for investing in agricultural products. Through LandX, investors can hedge against inflation and directly invest in agricultural commodities such as wheat, corn, soybeans, and rice.

Babybera

BabyBera is an ecosystem that includes NFTs, yield farming, and meme tokens.

• NFT: BabyBera has issued NFTs on Ethereum.
• Yield farming: Users can stake BBBERA single tokens to earn BBBERA rewards, provide liquidity for the BBBERA/HONEY trading pair on CrocSwap to earn rewards, and also stake NFTs to earn BBBERA rewards.
• Meme token: BBBERA is a meme token issued by Babybera, only obtainable through yield farming.

Ambient Finance

Ambient Finance is a decentralized trading protocol that implements a unique automated market maker (Singleton AMM) for each pool, running entirely within a smart contract, making it more efficient in executing multi-hop trades compared to traditional AMMs. Ambient does not transfer any intermediate tokens involved in multi-hop trades, significantly reducing gas usage during trade execution compared to other AMMs.

Ooga booga

Ooga Booga is a liquidity aggregator in the Berachain ecosystem, having completed a $1 million seed round of financing led by Kenetic, with participation from Cypher Capital Group, Rubik Ventures, Rana, BaboonVC, Citizen X, Nural Capital, Wizards Capital, Kestrel0x1, BlockBuilders, PANONY, Sneaky Ventures, and more.

Algebra

Algebra is a backend product for outsourced trading functionality, a B2B project that sells DEX backend contracts to any project interested in creating a DEX. By using their service, there is no need to rewrite contracts, and their product Algebra Integral V4 is already live on the Berachain testnet. Algebra Integral is an advanced solution for decentralized exchanges, introducing a modular architecture with custom plugins. Integral divides the previous single infrastructure into two basic components: the core codebase and plugins. The core codebase hosts the essential functionalities required for DEX operations, managing liquidity pools and basic mechanisms of DEX operation. Plugins extend DEX functionalities and address the inflexibility of the codebase. These custom plugins introduce features such as dynamic fees and liquidity mining, allowing DEX DAOs to customize functionalities according to their needs.

Aori

Aori is a high-frequency on-chain order book for market makers, providing non-custodial on-chain settlement for spot trading.

Infrared Finance

Infrared Finance is a liquidity proof protocol designed to support liquidity staking in the context of Proof-of-Liquidity (PoL) for the Berachain ecosystem.

PFP

Berachain is a meme chain originating from the Smoking Bear NFT, which can be traced back to the Bong Bears NFT series launched in August 2021. Subsequently, the NFT project The Honey Jar emerged, built on Berachain by seed investor janitooor.eth and a team of 11 other members. It is an unofficial community NFT project that has released two rounds of NFTs, namely Honey comb and Gen 1 The Honey Jar. The Honey Jar has established partnerships with various NFT and DeFi projects. Benefits for Honeycomb holders include airdrops, permission for exclusive staking activities, access to beta versions, and more.

Wizzwoods

Wizzwoods is an inter-chain synthetic Twitter plugin simulation game that introduces inter-chain synthesis mechanisms, with the main gameplay centered around building farms. Players can collect and combine NFTs from different EVM chains to improve their farm management efficiency and enrich their magical journey.

boink

A gaming project in the Berachain ecosystem. Players deposit Bera into the prize pool and reset the countdown, with each deposit resetting the timer. When the time reaches zero, the last person to deposit Bera wins all the Bera in the pool.

Beramonium

Beramonium is a blockchain game in the Berachain ecosystem, and they have released an idle role-playing game called "Gemhunters". In this game, players can have their Beramium Genesis beras perform tasks to obtain gems, which can be exchanged for NFTs from other well-known Berachain projects, such as Honey Combs, Beradoges, etc. The minting price for this NFT is 0.045 ETH.

Paragonsdao

We are a gaming community dedicated to bringing quality web3 games to the public. Our player management system lends game assets to users for free use of the NFTs required for the game, and in return, players share income with ParagonsDAO.

Beratone

BeraTone is a multiplayer life simulation role-playing game for PC and mobile devices in the Berachain ecosystem. The core experience of BeraTone is an agricultural and life simulation game. Berabonk is an on-chain meme token designed to support early adopters and builders of the Berachain ecosystem. 64.2% of its tokens will be used for airdrops, 33% will be airdropped to berabonk NFT holders, 6.9% will be airdropped to Bong Bears NFT holders, 4.2% will be airdropped to honeycomb NFT holders, and 20.1% will be airdropped to other collaborative projects.

Standard & Paws

Standard & Paws is a credibility rating system for projects within the Berachain ecosystem, used to assess the legitimacy of projects. Community members can evaluate and audit projects. Once approved, the project will be published on the S&P platform for wider audience review. Active community members who continue to evaluate projects may receive the official community S&P assessor title.

A SocialFi project in the Berachain ecosystem.

Beraplug

A meme token in the Berachain ecosystem. The PLUG airdrop started on February 15th, and it is available to Honeycombs holders, Bong Bears and rebase NFT holders, MIJANI holders, Ooga Booga Tickets holders, and Beraplug NFT holders.
