The inscription of Bitcoin has ignited the frenzy of Crypto users due to its fair casting and the wealth effect it brings. After Ordinals (inscriptions), various types of protocols such as BTC STAMP, Atomicals, and Runes have emerged. Among them, the development of BTC STAMP and its SRC-20 standard is highly anticipated in the community, and it is believed to have the potential to surpass BRC20.
In the BTC STAMP protocol ecosystem, OpenStamp is a comprehensive platform that integrates SRC20 inscription trading, NFT trading, and launch platform. It has been involved in the early development of the ecosystem, occupying more than 90% of the SRC-20 trading share for a long time, and has become one of the important products in the SRC20 ecosystem. Recently, the platform announced the launch of a Launchpad that integrates inscription and NFT sales, along with a series of incentive activities, which may bring a wave of wealth effect to the BTC STAMP ecosystem.
Flagship Project BitDragon on Launchpad
The first BTC STAMP (SRC20, STAMPS/SRC721) trading and minting platform, OpenStamp, has launched a brand-new Launchpad, and the debut project BitDragon will be launched on February 14th, Beijing time. On February 10th, OpenStamp announced the whitelist for BitDragon on Twitter.
BitDragon is the first cross-chain GameFi project on the SRC20 protocol, with BTC inscription as its core asset, granting holders unique airdrop privileges throughout its entire gaming ecosystem. Developed by the core team of the original Sandbox ecosystem, BitDragon aims to build a cross-chain gaming ecosystem through an innovative three-asset model - inscription, NFT, and Token. Compared to BRC20, the SRC20 protocol has stronger security and stability, making it more suitable for the GameFi of Bitcoin protocol. Therefore, BitDragon chooses to issue assets on Bitcoin through SRC20 and to place the game on EVM as the application layer.
BitDragon has its own IP and official cooperation with The Sandbox, faithfully reproducing the entire The Sandbox ecosystem at a 1:1 ratio, allowing users to play all mini-games within its ecosystem. Under the same IP and worldview, BitDragon will create different games in different popular ecosystems. Users can migrate core assets such as NFTs or inscriptions to play games in different popular ecosystems, and they can receive game profits and early excess incentives provided by the platform. BitDragon previously announced a strategic cooperation with KuCoin Ventures to jointly promote the development of cross-chain gaming ecosystems through deep cooperation in product design and cross-chain gameplay.
Under the Stamps protocol, there are also SRC-20 and SRC-721 token standards, corresponding to FT and NFT tokens. In the BRC-20 standard, all transaction data is stored in segregated witness data, and there is a risk of being pruned due to the adoption rate of Segwit not being 100%. In the SRC-20 standard, data is stored in UTXO, making it permanently part of the blockchain and cannot be deleted. Therefore, it has the characteristics of more secure data storage and difficult tampering.
In the minting process, SRC-20 only requires one transaction, while in contrast, the minting and transfer of BRC-20 tokens require two transactions to be completed. Therefore, the advantage of completing operations with only one transaction during network congestion will be evident, and the time cost required for initiating two transactions will be significantly increased, requiring users to pay more gas to expedite the transaction.
In addition, the vast majority of protocol types can only support one address type, which is a shortcoming. The convenience of SRC20 in the process of transfer and transaction, supporting four mainstream address formats - Taproot, Legacy, Nested SegWit, and Native SegWit, is another significant competitive advantage.
Overall, SRC-20 tokens have significant advantages in security and transaction convenience over BRC-20. The unprunable feature is in line with the security requirements of the Bitcoin community, and the freely divisible feature makes the protocol more flexible.
Currently, due to the first-mover advantage, BRC-20 has taken the lead, but with the development of the ecosystem, the BTC Stamp ecosystem is also highly anticipated, and it is even believed that it may surpass others. With the emergence of Layer2, OpenStamp is also planning to launch the Layer2 of the BTC ecosystem, promoting the further development of the protocol and ecosystem, presenting a grand development vision.
