In the initial 96 hours of July, 14 different projects and companies raised a total of $207.28 million, primarily through pre-seed, seed, token-raise, and Series A rounds. Sentient led the funding, securing $85 million, which constituted 41% of the total raised over the four days. Sentient, an emerging open-source artificial intelligence (AI) development platform, focuses on artificial general intelligence (AGI).

Investors in Sentient’s seed round included Peter Thiel‘s Founders Fund, Pantera, Framework, Foresight Ventures, Delphi Ventures, Robot Ventures, and Hashkey Capital. The next significant fundraiser was Tabi Chain, a modular game layer one (L1) blockchain within the Cosmos ecosystem, which raised $16.08 million through a public token offering. Following Tabi Chain, the startup Lombard secured $16 million.

Lombard aims to integrate Bitcoin into the decentralized finance (defi) space, with its funding round led by Polychain Capital and participation from Okx, Bitget, Nomad, Foresight Ventures, and ABCDE, among others. Atlanta-based Prodia, which specializes in distributed GPU networks for AI inference solutions, raised $15 million in seed funding.

Dragonfly Capital led Prodia’s funding round, which also saw contributions from Hashkey Capital, Web3.com, Index Ventures, Symbolic Capital, and Okx Ventures. In fifth place was Redstone, a blockchain startup specializing in oracle services, which secured $15 million in a Series A funding round on July 2, 2024. Both Pi Squared and Astria raised $12.5 million each.

Pi Squared focuses on enabling verifiable computing through zero-knowledge (ZK) technology, while Astria is developing modular blockchain technology. Other noteworthy capital raises in July include Sendblocks ($8.2M), Openledger ($8M), QED Protocol ($6M), Mamori ($5M), Compute Labs ($3M), Onaji ($2.5M), and Nubila Network, which also raised $2.5 million.

The ongoing investments in these projects and startups highlight an increasing confidence among venture capitalists in the potential of emerging technologies. Specifically, the top ten’s impressive funding accomplishments reflect a rising interest in platforms poised to enhance AI, crypto solutions, ZK technology, oracles, and defi, establishing a strong pace for tech startup investments this month.
