According to Bitcoin.com, criminals in Pinellas County, Florida are using counterfeit security software McAfee pop ups to deceive local residents by unauthorized remote access to personal computers. Once they gain control, fraudsters will manipulate victims to transfer money, purchase gold bars, or withdraw large amounts of cash through Bitcoin ATMs, which will then be picked up by couriers. The recent incident caused economic losses exceeding 530000 US dollars. The Pinellas County Sheriff's Office warns residents not to disclose sensitive information online or over the phone, and urges residents to report any suspicious interactions. Officials from the Sheriff's Office emphasized the need to remain vigilant and stated, "We advise citizens not to disclose personal or account information through phone or computer calls
