According to Business Insider, Elon Musk's AI company xAI is building a supercomputing center called "Colossus" in Memphis, Tennessee. It has invested approximately $406 million and plans to expand to deploy 1 million GPUs in the future. However, due to limited grid capacity, only 150 megawatts of electricity were approved, far below demand. XAI has activated natural gas power generation to supplement 250 megawatts and is seeking new land for capacity expansion. The project may ultimately cost over $27 billion, marking Memphis as a global hub for AI computing.
