If I'm investing in a high-conviction altcoin long-term, I like to split my holdings into 2 parts:
1. Long-term bag (I won't trade it, only take profit)
2. Active trading bag (I'll use high-time-frame invalidations/key levels on the chart to enter and exit)
The latter requires more attention, but this way I benefit from the upside of my long-term thesis without full exposure to the downside.
The percentage you assign to each depends on your conviction.
It could be 80/20 for something you're very bullish on.
Or 20/80 for more of a "long-shot" play.
Just ensure you define your exact strategy before making a purchase.
