Tether suspends issuance of EURT due to regulatory environment in Europe

Tether announced that it will cease support for its Euro stablecoin EUR ₮ and has stopped processing new coin requests in 2022. This decision is based on the increasingly complex regulatory environment of the European stablecoin market, while Tether will prioritize supporting new projects such as the new stablecoins EURQ and USDQ that comply with MiCAR regulations, launched in collaboration with Quantoz Payments. Tether will also provide efficient compliance support for asset issuance, including stablecoins, through its technology platform Hadron. Existing EUR ₮ users are required to complete redemption operations before November 27, 2025.
