If the Mar-a-Lago agreement is true, in order to get other countries to agree to the devaluation of the dollar, Trump must impose enough tariffs to create sufficient negotiation leverage.

There is also a factor that the other party cannot retaliate, or rather, cannot retaliate in kind.

The devaluation of the dollar requires the U.S. to increase the money supply. So perhaps the entire process is:

1/ The U.S. continuously increases tariffs to exert maximum pressure.

2/ At the same time, the U.S. uses tariffs as leverage to start demanding things from the other party, without yet discussing the dollar.

3/ In contrast, Europe and Japan/South Korea have less negotiation leverage because of the U.S. military presence. The U.S. is still a "civilized rogue," merely stating it wants to withdraw from NATO. If this does not work, it is not impossible for U.S. troops to directly engage in conflict in Europe. So these European fools have yet to realize this, always thinking they are still allies.

4/ Ultimately, an agreement is reached, and the dollar's devaluation process is initiated.
