When it comes to the Ton ecosystem, the most eye-catching aspect is the Ton games. Just like Axie Infinity in the past, the game that has been widely discussed on Ton recently is Catizen.

Introduction
Recently, Telegram (TG) and the Ton network have become hot topics. On August 28th, due to the surge in trading volume of $DOGS, the Ton network experienced congestion, leading to an overload of garbage collection and causing many validating nodes to temporarily lose consensus. To restore the normal operation of the network, validating nodes need to be restarted around noon.
So, what applications are there on the Ton network? And who are its user groups? Let's explore together.
1. Current Status of the Ton Ecosystem
Relying on the 1 billion users of TG, after six months of rapid development, the number of active wallets on the Ton chain has reached 14 million, but the penetration rate is only 1.4%.
In comparison, WeChat Pay had a penetration rate of about 80% in 2023. From this perspective, the Ton ecosystem has a huge potential user market.
In a recent meeting, the Ton official set a goal: to attract 500 million users to enter Web3 in the next 4 years.

When it comes to the Ton ecosystem, the most eye-catching aspect is the Ton games. Just like Axie Infinity in the past, the game that has been widely discussed on Ton recently is Catizen.
With the launch of Dogs, the hot topic quickly shifted. In the recent KWB event, people are discussing who the next phenomenal game will be, and what kind of story it will bring.
Developers who have more contact with the Ton Foundation will know that the Ton Foundation has not supported projects for a long time.
In addition to changes in supply and demand, simple Clicker Games have occupied a large amount of users' time, and users are tired of such games.
Currently, the commercialization of Clicker Games has only two paths:
- Listing
- Redirecting to other projects
However, there are very few projects that can be listed, and users may participate in many games but ultimately gain nothing.
For users, redirecting to each other will only result in a bunch of uninteresting and task-heavy Clicker Games.
In the long run, bad money drives out good, and users will gradually lose interest in TG games and lose trust in the TG ecosystem. When activity decreases, developers will also leave.
These Clicker Games, due to their simple goals, often do not require a "chain" and can complete game logic through centralized means, consuming Ton's resources without serving Ton.
Faced with this situation, how will the Ton official guide it?
In traditional internet, "people, goods, and scene" is an important concept, and the Ton official also realizes this, and is promoting the development of the ecosystem through various developer activities.
- People: Refers to users. In the Ton ecosystem, users are the core. Just like the evolution from "Jump Jump" to "Sheep's World" and then to "The Great Thousand" in the WeChat ecosystem, users need to be cultivated and educated through high-quality games and applications. The Ton official is working hard to attract more users into its ecosystem and provide them with interesting and valuable experiences.
- Goods: Refers to content and services. In the Ton ecosystem, games and applications are the "goods". These contents need to be attractive and innovative to meet the needs of users. The Ton official encourages developers to create excellent games and applications to enrich the ecosystem content, and incentivizes innovation through various activities and support programs.
- Scene: Refers to platforms and environments. The Ton network itself is a "scene", providing a decentralized platform for users and developers. The Ton official can collaborate with potential partners that can help break the circle, such as Web3 native companies and traditional game companies, to enrich the ecosystem content. Through these collaborations, Ton can not only provide developers with a wider range of resources and support, but also attract more users to participate, driving the prosperity of the entire ecosystem.
So the author started with the "scene" and saw that many traditional wallet giants have held Ton's Campaign events, such as Bitget Ton Carnival, OKX CryptoPedia, Safepal Ton Fest, etc.
This time, the author selected the games listed in the recently started Safepal Ton Fest event for analysis.

2. Crazy LIKE Game: Ton Heroes

A phrase commonly used by domestic developers is: "Bring the games on WeChat mini-programs over."
In the project list, the author found a "crazy" type of game, and this game emphasizes one word: "cool".
Players no longer need to continuously defeat minions to level up, nor do they need to desperately obtain equipment in the game's instances.
In the game, the treasure chest is right in front of you, and equipment, experience, and gold are all inside, for you to open as you please.
The types of weapons that players can open are:

The rarity of weapons is divided into 9 major categories, as shown in the following figure:

After seeing these, did everyone immediately think of a very popular project from the past: Loot.
The narrative of universal on-chain assets described by Loot has been accepted by many, but due to only solving the production end problem and lacking high-playability applications, it lost its utility value.
Ton Heroes, on the other hand, has implemented the production and use of items.

Users continuously open chests to obtain higher quality and better attributes of equipment. When opening the treasure chest, players need to make decisions between high-level attributes and basic attributes, trying to make the hero gain stronger combat power in battles.

Players can obtain additional resources and treasure chests through PVE battles, and can also challenge other players for battle rewards and higher rankings through PVP.
The online duration of "crazy" type games can reach up to 60 minutes, with an active ARPU of 9.8, a payment rate of 7.7%, and a payment ARPU of 126.
This category, which has already been verified, becomes a cash cow after the user base grows, and combined with the narrative and usage scenarios of universal game assets from Loot, this game has great potential.

At the same time, the author found the presence of Ton Heroes on the official recommendations of TonKeeper and OKX, which shows the team's background and strength.

Before the article was published, this game appeared as the top recommendation in the official AppsCenter of Telegram.
3. Multi-platform Social Collection Game: NokNok
The above Ton Heroes represents the "goods" in the "people, goods, and scene", while the representative of "people" belongs to this MEME game with fans and social elements.
NokNok, from the perspective of "people", has established a fan economy.
Players can "knock" on hot figures such as Trump, Musk, and Harris, and the number of times each character is "knocked" is displayed in a ranking format.

Hammer NFT
Players can earn hammer coins through in-game actions. At the same time, various hammer skins can be obtained through treasure chests every day.
According to official social media messages, they will soon launch an NFT system, allowing players to forge the hammer skins they collect into NFTs.

The author found this to be similar to the explosively popular Banana on Steam.
Although there are similar Banana projects on TG, they are not developed by the same manufacturer, and the data definitely cannot be integrated. However, NokNok has released its own game on the PC platform on Steam, making it the first multi-platform integrated Ton game.
This is also an important reason why the author analyzed it first.

Multi-platform Mining
Unlike most existing clicker games, NokNok emphasizes "casual gameplay", allowing players to earn profits through AFK mining.

Reward System
Similar to Banana, the NokNok official also launched activities to reward players for obtaining limited skins. Players can directly receive rewards from the official after obtaining the limited hammers, directly anchoring value to the items.

In the task list, the author saw two familiar logos, one is Binance, and Safepal is one of the earliest projects incubated by Binance, so there must be a certain connection with Binance.
The core of Dogs breaking the circle is to bring TG users to CEX, so has the narrative of NokNok on multiple platforms already attracted the attention of Binance?

Another task is IOSG, as an investment and research institution focusing on blockchain technology, it is an indispensable presence in the Web3 field.
Although the author did not find relevant information from public channels, this part is left for everyone to explore and research.
In this issue, we have analyzed these two games first. In the future, based on everyone's needs (you can submit the targets you want the author to research in the background), we can conduct more in-depth analysis of games on Ton with new gameplay and narratives.
