Several major securities companies in South Korea have suspended brokerage services for Bitcoin spot ETFs today. The list of suspended companies includes Samsung Securities and Mirae Asset Securities. Mirae confirmed that the company, along with several others, has ceased new trading of foreign spot Bitcoin ETFs on its platform. A spokesperson for Mirae cited an announcement from the Financial Services Commission of South Korea as the main reason for the suspension, and added that local brokerages are concerned that the issuance of existing overseas Bitcoin ETFs may be interpreted as illegal. Previously, South Korea prohibited domestic securities firms from providing brokerage services for overseas Bitcoin spot ETFs. (The Block)
